Mediation is suitable for those who feel that they need the help of a third party to come to a conclusion.

It is not suitable for everybody. A mediator does not give legal advice and you may need a solicitor to guide you through the process in any event.

The circumstances in which it is not recommended are where the parties do not trust each other or whether there is some element of duress – particularly where, for instance, there has been domestic violence.
